The Lamp Shop

The Lamp Shop is located smack in the heart of The South End Arts District in Burlington, VT.  424 Pine Street is where we set up shop, in an old industrial factory building called The Howard Space.  It’s the perfect backdrop to show off our amazing collection of antique lighting and funky furnishings.

I’m Liz, and I started this business with my husband, Andy, back in 2000.  At that time we just happened to be thinking about a new business to open together, when we heard that Andy’s sister and brother-in-law were selling the contents of their fabulously funky vintage lighting shop in Rochester, NY.  Andy and I had also been looking for lighting for our first house and just not finding the unique one-of-a-kind pieces that we had seen at “Acme East.”  So instead of buying lights for our house, we bought the whole damn store!

Fast forward 20 amazing years and so much has changed!  First and foremost we are now a women-run business (don’t worry I still have the husband!).  Our workshop, where we offer top notch professional lamp repair, has expanded.  Our inventory has more than doubled, we’ve teamed up with Chez Boheme to showcase their collection of fabulous home furnishings, and last but certainly not least, we now offer the most colorful assortment of lamp shades in the state.

Have fun exploring our nifty website.   Remember to call or email us if you don’t see what you’re looking for.  We’ve got backrooms loaded with pieces waiting to be worked on or to be created just for you!
